Journeyman Electrical Lineworker - Certification Required

$55.65 an hour - Full-time

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: An employee in this position may be called upon to do any or all of the following essential functions. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.

• Installs, repairs, and replaces high voltage power lines between generating stations and consumers, working at heights and often with energized lines.
• Observe precautionary work methods and wear and use safety equipment.
• Climbs poles or rides in bucket to remove broken or defective wires.
• Secures new wires and splices wire to complete circuits.
• Installs poles and pole hardware; installs and repairs underground service.
• Answers emergency calls under varying weather conditions.
• Locates source of power line disturbances or failures.
• Replaces or repairs equipment and accessories.
• Tests power lines on auxiliary equipment to identify defective voltage regulators, transformers, switches, and related accessories.
• Installs street lights.
• Operates hydraulic boom and assists in other crew duties.
• Services equipment and vehicles and cleans buildings.
