Customers interested in saving money through energy waste reduction projects or scheduling appliance recycling should note that the current rebate program will end on November 30, 2025.

Green Energy Program

Looking for ways to make your electricity more environmentally friendly? With our Green Energy Program, GHBLP will purchase additional renewable energy credits from sources like wind and solar. That means your utility payments directly support the generation of more renewable energy on the grid.

Appliance Recycling Program

Important Update: Appliance Recycling Program

The Appliance Recycling Program will not be available during December 2025. We appreciate your patience during this brief Holiday Season pause.

Reopening January 2026
Beginning in January 2026, the program will reopen—and scheduling a pickup will be easier than ever. A new self-scheduling tool will be available so you can choose a convenient pickup day online.

Customers may also call for assistance in scheduling , by calling (877) 367-3191 after January 5, 2026.


Appliance Eligibility & Requirements

Accepted large appliances:

  • Refrigerators or freezers between 10–30 cubic feet
    • Must be in working condition
    • Must be plugged in at the time of pickup

Accepted small appliances (only when paired with a full-size refrigerator or freezer):

  • Dehumidifiers
  • Room air conditioners
  • Compact refrigerators
  • Compact freezers

Pickup limits:

  • Up to 2 large appliances per account per year and
  • Up to 4 small appliances per account per year (scheduled with a qualifying large appliance)

Electric Vehicles

There's never been a better time to invest in electric vehicles. There are now over 175 models of electric vehicles on the road and automotive manufacturers are aggressively investing in EV technologies and rolling out new models with greater range each year.

Discover ways to reduce the cost of purchasing and operating an electric vehicle.  Purchase and install a qualifying Level 2 (240V) charging station at your home and receive up to $500 or for your business and receive up to a $2000 incentive.*

*Must be a Level 2 Charger(and/or level 3 charger for commercial). It must be 240 volts and hard-wired. Must have wi-fi connectivity. Subject to funding availability.

Important Update: Upcoming Changes to Energy Waste Reduction Program and EV Charger Rebates

Beginning in 2026, new state requirements for energy waste reduction will go into effect. As part of this transition, Efficiency United—the state-appointed administrator—will implement the Energy Waste Reduction Program for the years 2026 and 2027.

Please note: Electric Vehicle (EV) rebates will not be available under the state-administered program. As a result, rebates for electric car chargers will end on November 30, 2025. We encourage customers to take advantage of the current rebate opportunities before the deadline.

Grand Haven BLP offers a customer-friendly solar interconnection program with net metering for residential and commercial customers who want to generate their own renewable energy. Our streamlined process makes it easy to safely connect qualifying solar systems to the grid, with participation available for up to 10 years on a first-come, first-served basis.
