The Grand Haven Board of Light & Power’s Transmission Project between Harbor Island and VanWagoner Road is full speed ahead. After a couple of slight delays the project is back on track. The first delay was due to the storms on the East Coast in late March. CC Power, the GHBLP’s contractor for the project, was working on the East Coast for a couple of weeks to help rebuild and restore power after the storms. As of last week CC Power is back on site and moving forward. The second delay was the delivery of the steel poles for the project. The GHBLP received the final delivery of the poles this week, which is the last of the material needed to complete the project. GHBLP and CC Power are on schedule to complete the project within the original time frame. CC Power will be working Monday through Friday 10 hours per day to stay on top of the project. Over the next couple of weeks CC Power will be working on installing the new steel poles. Once the poles are installed CC Power will transition to installing the new wire on the poles. CC Power is planning on starting this process at Harbor Island and working North.
